About Us

I am a retired American who has lived abroad most of her life. My husband is a Moroccan who has lived in the USA for the past 45 years. We have been building our traditional Moroccan home (riad) in Tangiers for the past eight years.

We love Tangiers and think that it has been unjustly neglected in many grand tours of Morocco. With this blog, I hope that you will discover with me the pleasures of visiting Tangiers and have fun reading about our (mis)adventures in building this house.

  1. Lisa,
Good luck with this Blog -- great fun. I have never been to Morocco; but I did spend three years next door in Algeria. My former Ambassador there, Richard Parker, was twice posted to Rabat, and I recommend his personal memoir "Memoirs of a Foreign Service Arabist", posthumously published by ADST, which offers some acerbic comments on diplomatic life during the former King's time.

Hope to see you at the next Africa lunch May 17.
    Regards,

    Chris
